Did you know:
• By combining traditional cooking methods with microwave power you can achieve crispy pastries and roasts in half the time.

• You can set combination modes manually by selecting the oven function and temperature and then selecting a microwave power. Generally a power setting of 360 watts is used for more dense foods such as vegetables and bakes, and 180 watts for more delicate foods, such as cakes, meats etc.

• The simplest way to undertake combination cooking is to select MicroCombi, gentle or MicroCombi, intensive from your function selector.

• MicroCombi, gentle is most suitable for cakes, pies, pastries and roasts. You can achieve a crisp and brown result in approximately half the normal cooking time.

• MicroCombi, intensive is most suitable for more dense foods such as casseroles, pasta bakes, scalloped potatoes.

• You will obtain best results by using ovenproof glass or ceramic cooking dishes for combination cooking.

Selecting a microwave power level:
90 WATTS Suitable for defrosting delicate foods e.g. thin fillets of fish, mince, chicken breasts, bread, cakes.

180 WATTS Suitable for defrosting more dense foods or larger items e.g. pasta bakes,
large joints.

360 WATTS For cooking delicate items e.g. melting chocolate, cooking meat, cooking casseroles, egg custards, melting butter.

600 WATTS For heating and cooking foods e.g. reheating meal on plate, cooking rice, green vegetables, sauces.

1000 WATTS For heating liquids and cooking very dense foods e.g. heating a cup of milk, cooking potatoes and root vegetables.

Remember when cooking in the microwave, cooking time will be affected by size, shape and density of food as well as pre cooking temperature. If unsure, always underestimate the cooking time. Food can easily be cooked longer, but it is difficult to recover overcooked food.
